we knew that meant crawling would come soon. Sure enough on Wednesday (8/16) he started doing the commando crawl. He gets up on his knees starts rockin and then kind of lunges forward. lol So far it serves him well. If he sets his sight on something he wants then off he goes. It is so cute but also a sad time. I don't want him to be in such a hurry to grow up.
Here he is with his playing with the big guys.

And hanging with blue, after her haircut and color.

She is able to have blue hair because she is being homeschooled. Texas schools have such rigid rules that this hair color would never fly. They strongly discourage any individuality.
Now some stuff i've been doing.

this is a bowl i made by melting plastic beads. first i melted them flat in a disposable cake pan. when it cooled i popped it out. then i took a stainless steel bowl, turned it over and covered it with non-stick foil. (was nursing while typing now i'm done) Then put the disc of melted beads on the bowl and pop it back in the oven. It will melt again down the sides of the bowl. After i took it out i let it cool and then i popped it off of the bowl. Now we have a nifty bowl that sits on the shelf next to the front door. I'm using it as a change bowl.
I also made one for marina out of a rainbow of beads that i am going to make into a lamp. This is it before the final melt that gives it the bowl shape. I am going to drill a hole in the top and then string a lamp kit through the top. She loves rainbows so she was very happy to see this bowl.

This is a skirt i made for portia. I got the cutest set of patterns from ebay. This seller offered a huge package for such a good price that i had to snag it up. Pattern auction
it has so many cute things that i can't wait to make.

this is a bowl of beaded fruit thats not finished just yet. i have another apple and 2 lemons. i remember when i was little my nana had some beaded fruit that i loved. so i decided to make some for my table. just before i finished the first couple of pieces chris came home from a saturday morning store run with this groovy cool bowl. he found it at a garage sale down the street for 3 bucks. i love it so much and it is perfect for the fruit.
