weekend update

this weekend was busy and the kids made a killing......okay i did too. :) Chris took them to toys 'r us and let them pick out some new toys. The original plan was to get lucien some track to add on to his existing train track. Well of course the big kids said what about us?? Jewel picked out a Hannah Montana tour bus........is there anything in the world more annoying than hannah montana........why yes there is, the tour bus that plays two of her songs and has no volume control!! but she loves it so i will deal with it.

Portia picked out a little mermaid cd, little mermaid tennis shoes, a little mermaid bouncy ball, and a disney princess fold out couch. it's a little mini one like lucien's. of course there are no pictures of her stuff cause i felt it was more important to share her big news. she has a broken tooth. it looks horrible and she is in some pain. she was home today so i could take her to the dentist. They scheduled her to come back on the 18th to have it filled. They wanted to extract it but that would cause a lot of pain and then she would have to wear a band on her teeth to help the new tooth coming in and to keep the one next to it from growing in crooked. DOH

so the dentist prescribed antibiotics and some pain medication for bedtime. poor baby hardly got any sleep last night from the pain. because not only is it broken she also has a hellacious cavity in that tooth. ugh. we have had a financially bad year so we put off going in for regular checkups and cleanings. her last one was in march 2007 and we were planning on scheduling checkups next month. guess that is what happens when you put it off. i am feeling like a bad mama again cause once more i have fucked up! anyway don't know if you can see it in the pics but i tried to get a shot of the tooth.

marina got a doll like the one she used for her school project. i also got a set of bottles, a little t-shirt and a fake diaper. she loves it. :)

lucien got new tracks and a couple of new pieces for the set. a water tower and a train station. he also got some cute little blue tennis shoes that look like low top all-stars without laces. And he got a small table with two chairs that has go diego go characters on it. he likes to sit at his little table to eat so it looks like i'll be freecycling his high chair. maybe i will post some pics later, there are none right now.

I also got to work on some stuff this weekend. I made more altered dominos.

Michael's weekly sale

Yay Michaels had stamps 40% off and i wanted some new ones. I got six groovy new stamps. I wanted more but chris asked me not to spend so much........bah humbug. lol I have bought a few things for myself this week, yes crafty things. I almost bought myself a pair of shoes but then thought hey i don't need shoes i need MORE craft stuff. yeah my house is not stuffed enough. :)

On saturday night we went to hobby lobby and i got myself some supplies. I got 6 new colors of alcohol ink, tips for my wood burner (which broke when i tried to replace the tips DOH), crafters pick glue, big popsicle sticks for resin mixing (the regular size were killing my hands), some random scrapbook papers, some paintbrushes (wash size), magnetic sheets for my printer (was gonna make myself a bumper sticker), magnets for my resin sweet pieces, and some really small screw eyes.

I forgot to get more stamp cleaner and they don't carry the stazon brand at michaels. so now i will have to make another trip to hobby lobby this week.........oh poo. Or i can run into joanns and buy some, either way i'm using a 40% off coupon.

And on Saturday i got a package in the mail. It was an order of resin molds that i had placed only a couple of days before. They got here super fast cause the lady i ordered from is local. she is in spring which is about a 40 minute drive from me. If you have a chance check her out http://www.resinobsession.com

She is just the nicest lady. I have been chatting her ear off and she has been so friendly. I'm lucky to have met her and hopefully we will get a chance to hang out and cast together. :)

I absolutely love the molds that i bought from her and will be shopping with her in the future. I ordered a pair of lips, a bangle, a sheet of butterflies, and a sheet of random items (donkey & guns i already cast) I did it all in mica powder duo red-blue. they came out so cute!! marina and i keep saying pink burrrrooooo.

Last week i got a stand/drill press for my dremel and a flex shaft which I LOVE!! I also got a carving/engraving kit with all sorts of bits. I have been carving on my formica chip samples. I think i might make keychains & bookmarks out of those. Then again they may just end up in my dud bag.

i love it when i get new crafty stuff!! now if i could get lucien to quit dragging me all over the house. His favorite thing right now is to take you by the hand and walk you to what he wants. Most of the time it is to the front door or garage door cause he wants to go outside. I wanted to go walking today but it's raining & very windy. Cold front blew in today, yesterday it was in the 70's and it has now dropped down to 40. yay i love the cold, windy & rainy days......my body doesn't, makes my hips and knees hurt something awful but oh well i love 'em anyway.

okay so now i have to cut strips of paper. yesterday when we went to michaels jewel found an origami kit. i love origami, there is something so soothing & calm about quietly folding paper, i'm so glad that she is so excited about learning how to do it too. We have done cranes before, to help fill a box of paper cranes at the library but this kit came with an instruction book that has something like 25 projects.

I am cutting the strips so that we can make lucky stars. http://flickr.com/photos/kastner/sets/72157594166999727/
a while back i ordered some origami paper from an ebay seller in japan. i loved the whole package it totally ROCKED so i think i may have to order another couple of sets. maybe they can be a birthday present for her......no i don't think she reads this blog. if she does she has kept it a great secret and my jewlie jewel does not keep secrets very well. lol

oh and to my dear sister in law..........thank you so much i love you like crazy!! your email meant so much to me that i got totally faklempt. you always know exactly what to say to make me feel better. i hope you guys are enjoying your trip and i cannot imagine the tons of love sophia is getting right now. can't you guys at least move a couple of states closer?? ;) i will protect you

apparently i'm an addict

On wednesday i went to see the doc again. She has increased my pain medication because when i ovulate and when i have my period i am in extreme pain. during those 2 times a month i cannot walk upright it hurts so bad. this morning i woke up in such extreme pain that wearing clothes hurt, my muscles were just burning. i took a shower and having the towel wrapped around my head made my hairline feel like it was on fire, it burnt so bad.

my mother said i'm an addict.....oy that hurt so much more than she could ever know. i already have extreme fear of being seen as an addict because i rely on the pain medication to relieve the horrible pain i sometimes have to deal with. then she made that remark. i tried to let it go but i have been thinking about it constantly since she said it last night. damnit why do i let those little things like that bug me so much??!! i told her yes i'm addicted......addicted to not being in pain!

the doctor also put me back on ambien because the restoril was not helping me sleep anymore. i would take it and wait 3 or 4 hours for it to make me sleepy enough to nod off. it worked great in the beginning and then i guess my body just built up a tolerance for it. yuck. she also gave me samples of abilify to take in addition to the zoloft. it's supposed to help boost the zoloft but i read some awful reviews on it so i'm afraid to take it.

i just feel like i'm pumping my body full of poison and who knows how it's going to affect me in the long run. but i don't want to live everyday in pain and sad.....it's a double edged sword......suffer now or later?

chris and the kids have all been sick this week. he has a sinus infection and bronchitis, jewel had the cold originally and passed it on to lucien & chris. portia has an adenovirus.....that is a fanch schmancy word for a viral bug that causes puking & diarrhea......joy. she was home thursday and friday but seems to be feeling much better.

marina and i are the only ones who have not been sick......okay well she did sprain her ankle at her dance recital on thursday night. but nothing serious it's just very sore. we think she broke that ankle a few years ago and we didn't know it so it was never treated and healed wrong. so now when she is super active she injures it. she wants to have it re-broken this summer and reset but i told her that the procedure may not absolutely correct the problem and could possibly make it worse. so we will have to see what the ortho has to say when we take her to be seen.

i listed some new stuff in the shop. i also sent off about 30 samples to my etsy group
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=44025
they will be in the taste of texas boxes which is a box loaded with samples, coupons & business cards from members of the group. hopefully this will help to generate a few sales. We are also having our first monday sale this Monday March 3, 2008.

I will have the same sale buy one get one 50% off. plus i always include a free gift. I'm working on some stuff i hope to have up in the shop by monday. some jelly belly's in resin & candy sprinkles in resin pieces.

while i'm working i'm watching movies and one of my favorites is playing right now. chocolat....here is one of my most favorite quotes from the movie

Père Henri: Do I want to speak of the miracle of our Lord's divine transformation? Not really, no. I don't want to talk about his divinity. I'd rather talk about his humanity. I mean, you know, how he lived his life, here on Earth. His *kindness*, his *tolerance*... Listen, here's what I think. I think that we can't go around... measuring our goodness by what we don't do. By what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. I think... we've got to measure goodness by what we *embrace*, what we create... and who we include.

very appropriate since so many are celebrating lent right now.......and most especially for those little bullies on the playground that said my baby was cursed and going to hell. ;)
